doc-Q-manager
Print job and output management
n A worldwide issue for computer users and management
THE PROBLEM
As organizations adopt networked digital copier/printers and integrate the printer and reprographics functions, simple but powerful tools are required to exploit the benefits and manage the systems in both the departmental work group and CRD. Users from a traditionally non-IT background are now expected to control complex print output. Many of these print jobs are mission critical. What is needed is a simple to use, cost effective and yet powerful integrated system that solves the problems.
THE SOLUTION
doc-Q-manager and its add on suite of modules provides the solution. The core system module is a simple drag and drop print queue management system that gives users ‘mainframe-like’ control over print jobs from the network. Operators can copy, move, preview and reprint jobs by just using a mouse. Other products and modules in the suite provide functionality for: rules based network printing, electronic job ticketing for remote job submission, colour split, variable data dynamic forms composition. Individually or together they bring a powerful range of features and benefits.

Modernizing on-demand print services
n Client: A Midlands based District Council
THE PROBLEM
The council needed to update its analogue print room so as to provide a modern, professional and cost effective on-demand print service to all departments, while at the same time reducing the amount of printing on expensive to run departmental desktop printers and gaining better visibility of print costs for reporting to all departments.
THE SOLUTION
The doc-Q-manager suite of print management modules interfacing with a third party print accounting package provided the software solution, alongside the supply of a range of new networked multi-function devices. doc-Q-ticket enabled the print room to move away from a paper based job ticket process to an entirely electronic system. With the job costing functionality built into the ATI job ticket and integrated with the chosen Equitrac accounting software, all jobs now, whether printed on the network, or sent down to the print room, are fully costed and charged out to the relevant departments. Within the print room, jobs are easily managed and
prioritized with the simple "drag & drop" print management functionality of doc-Q-manager.

Job ticketing enables more business for Media Services Department
n Client: University in London
THE PROBLEM
The campus of a large medical school is shared by one of the busiest NHS Trust hospitals. Although the school's Media Services Department is kept fairly busy with the University's document production, the Media Services Manager wanted to increase the print volume by offering services to the adjacent NHS Trust.
In the past users would bring their reprographic jobs to the department, often walking long distances, and at reception fill out a "job ticket" to explain how the print work was to be finished. To widen the department's client base it was clear a simpler form of job submission would be critical for success.
THE SOLUTION
doc-Q-manager together with doc-Q-ticket, ATI's electronic job ticketing option was installed. Now Media Services clients can send print jobs to the department with all relevant instructions without leaving their desks by simply filling in an electronic job ticket, which has all the options and information necessary. Control and scheduling of jobs within the department is also now much easier thanks to the power and flexibility of ATIs doc-q-manager print queue management software.

Special need solution
PDF invoice/statement printing issue solved
n Client: A national grocery wholesale distributor
THE PROBLEM
The wholesaler had adopted a new financial accounting system from which the printed invoices, credit notes, statements, etc. are output in PDF. To improve the efficiency of document processing the user wanted to have all documents relating to one customer (e.g. invoices, credit notes, statements, etc) collated into one batch and stapled by individual customer. ATI were approached to see how they could help.
THE SOLUTION
ATI, as well as delivering a volume production quality ATI 7070 laser printer, worked with the user's IT department to build a detailed requirements specification. Once agreed, ATI developed a software program to sort the documents as required and add the necessary finishing commands into the print datastream to provide automatic stapling of the batched documents.
